Over the course of her public and private life, Dunia has engaged in numerous actions that contradict her outward persona, including but not limited to:

  • Fabricating serious allegations such as adultery and abuse

  • Submitting falsified legal documents and making contradictory statements under oath

  • Misrepresenting her credentials to counsel and influence others

  • Secretly recording sensitive conversations with community leaders

  • Propagating slanderous claims that have damaged reputations and relationships

Why This Matters

These revelations go beyond personal grievances. They highlight issues of trust, ethics, and the abuse of influence within the community. The damage caused by such actions undermines the core values of honesty, justice, and accountability that Islam emphasizes. This page is not about vengeance — it’s about safeguarding the community from further harm and ensuring that truth prevails.

Knowledge (‘ilm) is not merely an intellectual pursuit but a divine trust that shapes our faith, character, and ultimate destiny. Just as we carefully scrutinize what enters our bodies to preserve our physical well-being, we must be even more vigilant about the knowledge and information that enter our hearts and minds, as they directly impact our spiritual state.

The Qur’ān and Hadīth emphasize the distinction between beneficial knowledge (‘ilm nafi’) and harmful knowledge, urging believers to seek wisdom that nurtures the soul and draws one closer to Allah. This highlights the necessity of being extremely cautious and selective with whom we consume knowledge from. Knowledge must be rooted in truth, sincerity, and righteousness … hence why it should only be taken from trustworthy and upright individuals.

Dunia Shuaib has been found to have lied on countless occasions, including with her own credentials. Evidence of such lies have been presented thoroughly, in addition to her twisting the deen and relaying false Islamic knowledge — all in an effort to benefit herself. This is NOT an individual from whom anyone should consume knowledge, nor one that any organization should provide a platform or mic to. Many questions remain a complete mystery:

  • Did she ever graduate from high school at Al Noor in Brooklyn?

  • What school/college did she graduate from? What degree(s) did she attain?

  • What Islamic institution(s) did she graduate from?
    [she was banned from Qalam Institute]

  • What secular and/or Islamic certifications does she have?
  • What scholars/teachers vouch for her?
  • Where is she supposedly pursuing her PhD and under whose guidance?

Dunia Shuaib is NOT a victim

Dunia Shuaib is NOT a victim. For countless years, she has repetitively portrayed herself as a victim. That everyone is out to get here, to harm her, to kick her out of school, to humiliate her, to hurt her. She has mastered the art of playing victim and architecting a string of lies to play into her narrative of being the victim. It is nothing short of manipulation and crocodile tears. I have personally experienced this for over 6 years.

WHY have I resorted to going public? The reason is multifaceted.

  1. I have tried for over two years now to try and address/resolve this privately. Initially I tried countless times to address this with Dunia privately. Unfortunately, she continued to lie and dig herself deeper in a hole … stacking one lie upon another … all while trying to deflect any sense of responsibility for her actions.
  2. I then tried to seek help from shuyūkh and community leaders … meeting/speaking with them personally, emailing them details (while CC’ing Dunia for full transparency), and making a desperate plea for their help. Unfortunately, not a single one offered to help and many became unresponsive (including her teachers), ignoring my messages altogether.
  3. The lies and slander that Dunia continues to cast have been spreading and far-reaching, even to the point that some of the egregious lies were being talked about in the Middle East. In the past year, I have heard of slander and rumors that continue to evolve … all in an effort to try and demonize me and others.
  4. I have young daughters and I will not let someone who carries herself outwardly as a public religious figure to continue to tarnish and spew disgusting and outrageous lies about me (and others). Why would anyone not believe someone who appears ultra religious and speaks about Islam with such passion? Unfortunately, as you will come to realize with the evidences below, sometimes there is darkness and evil that lurks behind a veil.

Status

SCHOOL

  • Qalam Institute – she has been officially BANNED and not allowed to attend any of their events/classes or step foot on their campus/school. This is where she attended classes for years. Her teachers include: AbdulNasir Jangda, Husain Kamani, Mikaeel Smith, AbdulRahman Murphy

RELIGIOUS LEADERS

  • Yasmin Mogahed – upon finding out about Dunia’s disgusting behavior and actions, she publicly cancelled her partnership in an event with Dunia
  • Samia Mubarak (Quranic Ocean) – publicly cancelled her partnership in an event with Dunia
  • Yasir Qadhi – personally assured that she will never be allowed to speak at EPIC
  • Omar Suleiman – has described Dunia as “not being trustworthy”

EVENTS

  • Irving Masjid (May 2023) – cancelled her program and did not allow her to speak after she was exposed with the lies she shared with them
  • Faith Conference – Malaysia (September 2023) – cancelled her and retracted their invitation
  • ICNA/MAS Convention – no longer invited (after years of speaking there)
  • BASMAH Relief Organization (January 2024) – cancelled her as a speaker
  • Plano Masjid (October 2024) – cancelled her program after outrage from community members

Most of the major masjids in Dallas DO NOT ALLOW her to speak including:

  • Islamic Center of Irving
  • East Plano Islamic Center
  • Islamic Association of North Texas
  • Islamic Association of Carrollton
